SOFLA Puppy Victim Of Animal Cruelty

The puppy was brought to the Humane Society
of Broward County Tuesday and underwent
surgery to repair her ears.
The person who brought her to the shelter
said she was a stray that they found off of
441 in the Plantation area.
Official say this is felony animal cruelty
and the person who did this could face up to
five years in jail and or up to a $5,000
fine.
Cropping of ears and docking of tails, is
done for cosmetic reasons and is only to be
performed by a state licensed veterinarian.
Individuals who fight dogs also remove the
ears so that the dogs do not have anything
to grab on to.
The puppy, who now has the name "Holiday",
will go to a foster home to heal before she
can be adopted.
Since she is a stray, the shelter will hold
her for three days to see if an owner comes
forward.
The adoption fee is $125 for puppies and
includes spay/neuter, up-to-date
vaccinations and more.
