Police say a juvenile ran to
a neighbor's house Tuesday afternoon and told him that
31 year-old Ernest Biggs, III had attacked an adult pit
bull with a knife.
The neighbor called police, and when officers arrived at
a residence at 2719 East Magnolia Avenue, they found
blood on the porch, and throughout the house and yard.
The injured dog was on the property, suffering from
multiple stab wounds.
A witness told officers that Biggs both stabbed the dog
and also attempted to slash its throat with a steak
knife, and that the dog hadn't done anything to provoke
the attack.
Biggs was arrested and charged with a Class E felony
offense of aggravated cruelty to an animal.
The dog was taken to a local veterinarian. Police have
no word on its condition.
