Jake is a rather calm and laid back boy. Don't get us wrong, he loves to play and boy can he run but he's not an overly energetic pup. None of the pups are, which is actually nice! They play for awhile and then sleep. After running around outside for approximately 30 minutes the other day, Jake fell asleep standing up! So cute.
Jake is very, very intelligent. He is very motivated by treats and learns commands very quickly. He stares directly into our eyes until we tell him to do something. He just wants to please us! Jake loves to go on outings to meet new people and dogs. His back end wags with joy when he sees people and dogs. He's just so happy to get attention. He also loves to cuddle, which we absolutely love. He always finds a spot near his siblings and on our laps. He does not push any of the other dogs out of the way to get close to us but he nudges to make sure he's as close as he can get. He's our big teddy bear and we pick him up and hug him for hours.
Jake is the largest of the litter, weighing approximately 47 pounds at 7 months of age. Let's just say he loves to eat! Jake knows basic commands and we're working on leash manners. He's crate trained, UTD on all necessary vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and almost housebroken (it's difficult to housetrain 7 pups at once!).
Background: Jake and his siblings had a difficult first few weeks!!! For the first two weeks of their lives, they were kept in a tiny, filthy crate with their mom. After being taken to the humane society, all the pups came down with pneumonia. We stepped in to rescue them and two of the puppies were rushed to the emergency vet - one puppy died and one came home. Prior to adoption, Jake must be signed up for a basic obedience class at a training center and, thereafter, the adopter must take Jake to one additional obedience class.
Northeast Ohio adoptions only. We conduct pre-adoption and post-adoption home checks. The adoption fee for Jake is $200. Please note: Invisible Fencing is not an acceptable means of confinement. If you are interested in adopting Jake, please make sure you meet the adoption requirements prior to submitting the online ADOPTION APPLICATION.
