We are in desperate need of
foster homes!!! Without the help and support of foster homes, we
have to turn away needy animals. Foster homes are integral to our rescue
efforts. Without our
foster homes, all the loving, adoptable Pit Bulls don't stand a chance
of finding a new family. A foster home provides a loving,
structured, responsible, safe, and educational environment.
Responsibilities of a Foster Family:
-
To provide daily care.
Just like owning a pet, this includes feeding, exercise, waste
clean-up, and positive, loving interactions, as well as being on the
lookout for any emerging medical or behavioral issues.
-
To provide a good balance of
love and discipline.
Many dogs are returned to rescue because they were lacking in
adequate attention or training/discipline in their early months.
As a foster parent, you have the chance to teach the dog just what
love is all about, in the form of grooming, play and petting, as
well as fair, consistent training and discipline.
-
To Attend
Obedience Classes.
Many of the dogs we rescue
have never learned basic obedience or good manners. Our goal is to
provide each dog basic obedience training so that they are
well-behaved and breed ambassadors upon adoption. Classes will be held once a week for
six weeks and the foster parent will need to work with the foster
dog each day.
-
To allow prospective adopters
to meet the foster dog. After an interested party is
screened in accordance with our policies and we believe we've found a potential adopter, we will work with
you to arrange a meet-and-greet. We will solicit your input to
help us match up the best possible family with your foster dog.
- To provide feedback.
Your role is to provide truthful and complete information about the
dog. We'll also want to know how you are doing. We want to
make your foster experience the most positive it can be!
PLEASE HELP US HELP THESE DOGS!!!! THEY
DESERVE A CHANCE!
