Luna's Story:
On November 24, 2008, a volunteer from a local dog rescue contacted For the Love of Pits regarding a sweet, female dog locked in a rusty cage, in a cold, dark basement for the entire day, except for being let outside on a chain for 10 minutes or so. She was never permitted to roam the house, even while people were home.
Once a space opened up, we arranged to test the dog. on Saturday, January 24, 2009, we visited Luna in her home and we were shocked by what we saw. Luna was dirty, thin and had open wounds on her body. She was very sweet and passed our tests with flying colors so we took her that day.
