The public is not aware of the personal tragedies of people affected by breed specific legislation.  They do not hear about the family dog being physically pulled out of the crying child's arms and taken away to be killed for no other reason than the way the dog looks.  They do not see all the innocent puppies and dogs shaking in the back of their cages at the city kennels and shelters in and around Ohio awaiting certain death for no other reason than the way they look.  They do not know about the dogs who are abused, lit on fire, stabbed, shot and thrown out to die a painful death because the people that know do not feel these dogs are worthy. 

Well, I feel it's about time the public hear what's really happening and learn that breed specific legislation is creating a society that accepts the killing of innocent dog and cruelty to living beings.  It's about time animal welfare organizations speak out and do what's right; it's about time organizations and individuals afraid to speak out show integrity.  No one is helping dogs by keeping quiet and by turning your back on an entire type of dog, you are harming our relationship with all companion animals.
