   JANIE

Janie is a dog whom everyone loves.  When we're away from her, we're thinking of her and cannot wait to get home to her.  If you've ever read about the true, amazing characteristics of the pit bull dog, Janie is everything described and more.  She has such an amazing temperament, absolutely loves all people, is comical in everything she does, is extraordinarily intelligent and puts her heart and soul into everything - even if it's just laying around.

Janie is very petite, weighing only 45 pounds.  She's a low rider and very muscular.  We had to put a pink collar on her so people knew she was a sweet girly, girl!

Janie wiggles with happiness when people appear.  She doesn't distinguish between her family and strangers.  She loves everyone!  She had her first Christmas with her caregivers and the entire family, guests and all, fell in love with her.  It's hard not to do, though.  Our volunteers have all fallen for Janie and most have met her only once.

As stated above, Janie is very, very smart!  She knows sit, down and is getting very good at stay.  She's crate trained and housebroken.  She loves chewing on her tire, as you can see from the picture below, and enjoys her Merrick bones and Nylabones.  She loves her pretty new blue bed and laying by the fire.  She has a very tight, shiny coat but it's not great at keeping her warm so we have to put a sweatshirt on her for walks in the snow! 

Janie begins her first obedience class in January and we're looking forward to working with her.
