  MICHAEL

Don't let the name fool you!  His name may be ordinary but this dog is absolutely EXTRAORDINARY!  You see, Michael not only wants to be man’s best friend, he wants to be everyone’s best friend!  He is affectionate, athletic and as loyal as a dog can be!  Overjoyed to be out of the shelter, he is happy in his foster home and showing us all what a great decision we made by taking him into rescue.

Michael loves attention.  Whether sitting patiently by your side to get his ears scratched or sleeping next to you, he loves to be around people.  He follows his foster dad around everywhere he goes and has earned his “licker license” with his kisses.  We believe that he hasn’t seen much love in his life, so now he is determined to soak up all he can get.  He will crawl into your lap and fall asleep or lean up against you just to be close.

Fostered with other dogs, he also likes to wrestle and play - especially with his foster sister Sadie.  They both love chasing each other around in circles in the backyard.  It’s funny to watch since they lose track of who’s chasing who sometimes so they eventually just give up and enjoy rolling in the grass or lying in the sun.  He doesn't retrieve tennis balls but he will chase one down just to have his canine sisters run after him.  He is very intelligent and quickly mastered the basic obedience commands like “sit” and “down.”

Michael is a very happy boy with an ambition to please.  He is overjoyed to see his foster parents happy!  He is curious about everything he missed out on during his long stay at the shelter.  He is very smart and loves to be challenged.  Michael loves and needs exercise, daily walks and an owner who is willing to provide him with daily training or other types of mental stimulation.  He is a truly one-of-a-kind, very special and very sweet boy!

Michael is crate trained, housebroken, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and obedience trained.  He walks great on leash and listens very well.
