if you asked us to describe Nelly in one word, we'd say "PERFECT!"  She's healthy, affectionate, loving, obedience trained, smart, housebroken, crate trained, walks well on leash, loves other dogs, she's attentive and an absolute joy to be around.  She has the best ears that are like radar detectors, moving slowly around as she hears different sounds.  She can actually move one ear around while the other stays pointed forward.

In addition, Nelly loves people.  She tries to keep her butt on the ground when saying hello to people but her excitement and the powerful wagging of her back end and tail seems to lift her back end right off the ground.  Oh she tries so hard, though.  Although excited to meet new people, she calms down quickly and is rather calm with people in her home.  She doesn't jump and is not demanding.  She loves to cuddle but will not push the other dogs out of the way.

Not only is Nelly everything listed above, she's also the perfect size.  She's 40 pounds of pure muscle.  She keeps fit by running in the yard, playing with her canine foster brothers and sisters and taking long walks with her foster parents.  She also spends time hunting in the bushes and wooded part of the backyard.  It's probably those ears that make her so keen but she also has an amazing sense of smell.    She's a true terrier!

Nelly is a lot of fun and enjoys every day.  Nelly loves being outdoors.  She could hang out in the backyard all day long and will if we let her!  She loves the snow in the winter and her puppy pool in the summer!  Nelly enjoys tug, chasing and being chased.   If the other dogs are not giving her attention, she picks up a toy and walks into the other dogs to try to get them to chase her or play tug.  She's so darn cute!

Nelly has completed her obedience class and attends events regularly.  Quite the little ambassador!

If you are interested in adding Nelly to your family, please make sure you comply with our placement requirements before completing the placement application, which can be found in the yellow box above.

Anyone lucky enough to add Nelly to their family must be prepared to attend at least one obedience class with Nelly within the first 2 months of placement.

Northeast Ohio placements only.  We conduct pre- and post-placement home checks.  The placement donation for Nelly is $150.
