He has a very sweet temperament. He is quiet, thoughtful and observant. He doesn't need to be the center of attention but enjoys being with people and other dogs. He's shy with new people and dogs at first but it only takes a short time before his butt begins wiggling out of control with delight!Pegasus is filled with love and as soon as you have time to devote to him, endless amounts of love pour out of him! He's always ready for a belly rub and he makes soft, sweet grunts letting us know he's happy! He absolutely loves all people but his favorite person in his foster home is his 5 year old human foster and he follows her wherever she goes. He loves being around her and is very gentle when they are close.
Although he loves being with people and getting attention, he's not pushy or demanding. He is able to entertain himself when his fosters cannot make him the center of attention. During these times, his fosters find him quietly chewing on a bone, sunbathing in the ray of sun shining through the windows or taking a little nap (always ready to get up if his people leave the room!).It took him awhile to settle in and become comfortable in a multi-dog household, but his fosters took it slowly and he is now as comfortable as if he'd been there for years. He now loves playing in the yard with his canine foster brothers and sister. They chase each other, play tug and sunbathe. He loves the outdoors during the warm months. Pegasus takes daily walks in the park where he is always eager to explore new scents.Pegasus is extremely smart. He learns cues very quickly and already knows “sit,” “down” and “come.” He is in the process of learning “stay” and “wait.” He loves to learn new things and as soon as he hears the treat bag, he is standing at attention waiting for the education to begin. His fosters are teaching him fetch although he'd rather watch the human chase the ball and bring it back to him! This sweet boy needs plenty of exercise, walks, and more than anything, lots of love and affection! If you are interested in Pegasus, please confirm that you satisfy the placement requirements. If you do, please complete and submit the online or PDF placement application. Northeast Ohio placements only. We conduct pre- and post-placement home checks. The placement donation for Pegasus is $150. Obedience class will be required within 6 months after placement.
